We are proud to announce the official launch of the Autism Reality Experience Room in Al Bahia ZHO Centre in collaboration with Zayed Higher Organization. This cutting-edge Autism Reality Experience in Al Bahia is the first training room set up in the Middle East and second in the world. This initiative is a part of our ongoing commitment at Topland and Zayed Higher Organization to raise awareness, understanding, and support for individuals with autism. Through a virtual experience, this training allows participants to step into the shoes of an autistic person, providing invaluable insight into the sensory sensitivities and behaviors commonly associated with the autism spectrum.
Autism Reality Experience was invented by Training 2 Care’s CEO Glenn Knight and 150 Autistic people. It was successfully implemented in the United Kingdom and has reached a wide range of clients across various sectors, including healthcare professionals, educators, and social care providers. The program has been delivered to over 10,000 individuals across the UK, with clients including the National Health Service (NHS), local authorities, educational institutions, and private care providers.
The Autism Reality Experience is the benchmark that other autism training courses strive to achieve and by using specially developed sensory changing equipment, the delegates will be transported into a world that they could not imagine, just for a short period of time. After the experience there is an extensive de-brief that allows you to understand the changes you need to make to improve their lives.
This experience is particularly impactful for educators, caregivers, healthcare providers, customer facing service providers and others who work with or support individuals with autism. Our goal is to foster empathy, enhance communication, and promote an inclusive approach to supporting people with autism in various environments.
The positive feedback and measurable outcomes from these sessions have led to its international expansion, including in the UAE at Zayed Higher Organization.
